Week 1- Literary Luminary by Marina
I was surprised when Laurie asked Jo to dance with him because Jo's apparel wasn't complete and she had a stain on the back of her gown. I was surprised because Laurie seemed like a stranger, but he asked her to dance anyway.
I was not suprised when the March sisters went to help the poor family because I new that from the start all of them were very nice and warm hearted.
I was astonished to hear that Laurie's grandpa wouldn't let him play the piano just because he didn't fancy his mother who was a musician, and therefore didn't let him play. I thought that was odd because just because you don't like someone doesn't mean their son can't be like them too.
I was suprised when Laurie said to Meg that he didn't fancy her dress at the ball. I was surprised because he was a nice boy, and that made Meg very upset.

Week 2- Literary Luminary by Paloma
Chapter 10- I thought the P.C. meeting was funny because all the girls pretended to be men (Mr. Pickwick, Mr. Snodgrass, Mr. Tupman, and Mr. Winkle). Also, I liked the girls' entries in the newspaper. I liked the end of the chapter when Laurie becomes Mr. Weller and becomes part of the P.C.
Chapter 11- I thought it was funny and sort of sad that Jo couldn't make a decent meal. I can relate to her though, I can't cook either. I really liked the end when everybody ends up laughing and Marmee comes back downstairs and is feeling much better.
Chapter 12- I liked when everybody is having a good time and they are all playing games that Katy recommends. I like this because I like to read about happy things, and sitting around in a circle and telling stories and playing games sounds like a really fun thing to do.
Chapter 13- I thought the description of the little picnic was really good. I could picture the scene and image perfectly, and I like that the girls just let Laurie into their playing, even though he is a boy and they thought he would not like to be a part of the "girl's time."
Chapter 14- I liked how Jo read her story in the newspaper to all the girls. Jo's sisters loved her story, and were glad it got in the newspaper. Laurie also liked it. I liked this because Jo was really happy and she was excited to tell Laurie, Meg, Beth, Amy, and Marmee.
Chapter 15- I was sad when the sisters recieved the telegram saying that Mr. March was very ill. I was sad because their father was away at war, and to hear that he was ill would be heartbreaking.
I was also very surprised when Jo announced that she had all that money from cutting off her hair. I was surprised because it seemed like Jo really loved her hair.
Chapter 16- I really liked when the author showed all the letters that the girls, Laurie, Mr. Laurence, and Hannah wrote to Marmee. I thought it was pretty cool to see all their styles of writing. For example, Meg's was very neat, Mr. Laurence's was very formal, and Amy's was messy and kind of funny.
Chapter 17- I was very very surprised when Beth had the symptoms of the scarlet fever. This was a sad and surprising thing because Beth is one of the main characters and for her to get sick made me feel like the ending was not going to be very happy.
I was also sad when the baby died in Beth's arms. That made me sad because Mrs. Hummel didn't know until she got home.
Chapter 18- I was sad when Beth's doctor said she truly had the scarlet fever. This was saddening because Beth is a perfect little angel. It made me even sadder because her sisters were all crying and mourning.
I was also happy when the sisters were letting out shouts of joy because Marmee came home.
Chapter 19- I was surprised when Amy made her will. I thought this was odd because Amy is only 12, and I think she is much too young to think about dying and giving up her stuff. But I thought it was sweet that Laurie just smiled and helped Amy get what she wanted without being a fart and making her feel bad or making fun of her.
Chapter 20- I was surprised when Jo was talking to Marmee about Meg. Jo thought Meg would marry Laurie. I thought this was surprising because I just thought that because Laurie and Jo hung out a lot together, they would fall in love some day.
Chapter 21- I was very surprised when Meg was found crying. She looked sad and told Jo, "It's all a mistake-he didn't send it-oh, Jo, how could you do it? You wrote it, and that bad boy helped you. How could you be so rude, so mean, and cruel to us both?" Meg threw the note at Jo and they figured out that Laurie wrote the letter. I didn't think Laurie could be so cruel, even though he was curious about the secret that Jo has.
Chapter 22- I felt happy when Mr. March appeared in the doorway. I was joyful because it seemed like he was never going to come home. Everybody crowded him and it made me cheerful for the March family, especially Marmee because she was probably fretting about Mr. March the most.
Chapter 23- I felt happy (but surprised!) for Meg when Mr. Brooke proposed to her. It was weird because Jo didn't approve of him, but it all ended OK and Marmee and Mr. March were OK with it.
Chapter 11- I thought it was funny and sort of sad that Jo couldn't make a decent meal. I can relate to her though, I can't cook either. I really liked the end when everybody ends up laughing and Marmee comes back downstairs and is feeling much better.

Week 3- Literary Luminary by Claire

Week 4: Melina
1. I thought that Amy was nice to give May the stuff she was going to use for the fair because if I was in the fair, I would want to get the most money.
2. I was happy for Amy that she could go on the trip, but sad for Jo because she wanted to go on that trip for a long time.
3. I thought it was funny when Amy mentioned in the letter, the men twirling their curly mustaches because I can imagine that perfectly.
4. I was surprised when Laurie proposed to Jo! I was surprised because I didn't know Laurie loved Jo!
5. I was interested when Jo denied the propose because most times when you propose, the other says yes!
6. I was dumbfounded when Jo burned her "rubbish" or as I like to say, her work. I can't believe she worked so hard on them to just rip it up.
7. I was happy that Jo liked the Professor because many people liked him, so it would be sad if Jo was the only one who didn't like him. Also, it's better if Jo knows more people because she can have more friends who think she is charming.
8. I was upset that Beth was going to die. It was sad because well... most all deaths of sad people are heartbreaking!
9. I was surprised and happy that Amy and Laurie got married. It turns out things worked out with Laurie and that's why I'm happy.
10. I was surprised that Jo married the professor, and so now the can be happy.
