In Part 2- Chapter 30, a lot of interesting and exciting things happen. First, the author explains the life of the house since the first book. Everybody is really happy. Beth is dutifully doing her work, Mr. March is still the man of the house, Jo is as tomboyish as ever, Amy is still the Little Raphael, Meg is happily engaged to Mr. Brooke, Marmee is, as always, content with her beautiful family, and Laurie went to college but is still the prankster he always was. Meg is settling into her new home with Mr. Brooke. Next, the day of the wedding finally comes. Meg and her family are joyful, and they are waiting for the ceremony to begin. Laurie has promised Jo that he will not say smart things during the wedding, for fear of ruining her day. Marmee feels like her first little birdy has flown out of the nest. But, during the wedding, Meg cheerfully says, "I will!" and then, "The first kiss for Marmee!" The reception has been a playful and happy occasion. Furthermore, Amy has decided to invite her art class to the house. Marmee says it's OK with her, but Jo and Hannah don't approve. Meg promises to help, and so the party goes on. Amy pledges to purchase everything needed, but due to bad weather, the party is cancelled. Jo and Hannah are still annoyed. Finally, the party happens and everything works out fine. In the next chapter, the author is explaining how Jo is a writing maniac. Jo's 'scribble suit' is for writing, and she uses it frequently. Everybody is shocked at Jo's writing ability and Jo sends it out to the editors. Jo's story is published! She is an author! She sends out several more stories and makes money for each of them. Everybody is impressed. Aditionally, Meg is at her new house with John. When they were first married, Meg said that Mr. Brooke could bring any of his friends over and dinner would be prepared. But Meg wasn't ready when John brought his friend over. Earlier, John had bought some jelly jars and wanted Meg to make some jelly to put in them, but Meg's jelly won't jell, and she throws a little temper tantrum. Finally, Amy bribes Jo to come to the Lamb's house with her and dress up. At first, Jo doesn't want to, but then she says she will. Jo gets dressed up in all her fancy clothes and they travel to the Lamb's. The family likes Jo and think she is funny and charming. But Jo makes Amy embarrased with her praise and they finally leave.
